In the Islamic calendar, it is written in full as 'Ramadan Mubarak'. Muslims around the world consider this month more sacred and greater than other months. On the last day of the eighth month of the Hijri calendar, 'Shaban', Muslims look for the moon in the sky. If the moon is seen on that day, fasting begins the next day, i.e. on the first day of the ninth month, Ramadan.
